Prayer for Help in Making Wise Choices:
Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Please give me the wisdom to see things as you see them and to understand your will for my life. Help me to seek your guidance in all things and to trust in your plan for me. Lord, you tell us in James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” I humbly ask that you generously pour wisdom into my very being. I want to make godly, wise decisions in my life. I am asking you for help in this area.
I pray that you would give me the discernment to know when to speak and when to remain silent, to know when to act and when to wait. Help me to recognize your leading in my life and to follow it faithfully.
I ask that you would fill me with your Holy Spirit, so that I may have the wisdom and discernment that I need to navigate this world and to serve you faithfully. I ask that the Holy Spirit be my guide in the testing of spirits. 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Illuminate those things which are of you and which are not.
I pray all of this in your holy and mighty name, Amen.

Prayer for a Discerning Spirit to Recognize What is Not Good for Me:
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
Heavenly Father, I seem to fall into the saying of “I’m my own worse enemy.” I need your help recognizing what is good for me and what I need to walk away from. Lately, my life choices have not worked out in my best interest.
Lord, seeking your guidance and wisdom. I ask for a discerning spirit to help me recognize what is not good for me.
I pray that you would give me the ability to discern your voice from all the other voices that speak to me. Help me to be sensitive to your leading and to follow your will for my life.
I pray for the wisdom to make good decisions and the courage to walk away from anything that is not in alignment with your will for me. I pray that you would give me the strength to resist temptations and to avoid harmful situations. Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
I ask that you would reveal to me any hidden motives or deceitful plans that may harm me and my loved ones.
I pray that you would give me the courage to speak up and to make hard choices when necessary. I pray that you would give me the wisdom to know when it’s time to let go of something or someone that is not good for me.
I pray that you would give me the discernment to recognize when I am being led astray and the courage to follow your path for my life.
I trust in your love and wisdom, and I know that you have a plan for my life. I pray that you would guide me and help me to make choices that will lead me closer to you.
