7 Prayers for Salvation for Family Members

Personal Prayer of Salvation:

Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;”

Dear Lord,

I come to you today with a humble and open heart. I recognize that I have been lost and wandering, searching for meaning and purpose in my life. But now, I am ready to accept your love and grace, and to make you the center of my life.

I know that I am a sinner, and that I have fallen short of your glory. But I also know that you are a loving and merciful God, who is willing to forgive and cleanse me of all my sins. Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

I ask for your forgiveness, Lord, and for the strength to turn away from my old ways and to follow you. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he died on the cross for my sins. I accept him as my Lord and Savior, and I commit my life to following him.

I pray that you would fill me with your Holy Spirit, and guide me in your will and ways. Help me to grow in my faith, and to live a life that is pleasing to you.

I thank you, Lord, for your love and grace, and for the gift of eternal life through Jesus. I praise your holy name, Amen.

May I strive to maintain healthy, godly relationships with all those around me, and to be a shining example of your love and grace in the world.

I pray all of this in your holy name, Amen.

Prayer of Salvation for a Family Member

Acts 16:31 “They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.”

Lord, I come to you today with a heavy heart, asking for your help and guidance for a dear family member who is lost and wandering. I pray that you would reach out to them and show them your love and grace.

I know that you are a loving and merciful God, and that nothing is impossible for you. I trust in your power to save, and I ask that you would open their eyes and hearts to the truth of the gospel.

I pray that you would give them the strength to turn away from their sin and to follow you. I pray that you would surround them with other believers who can support and encourage them in their journey.

I ask that you would give me the wisdom and discernment to know how to best pray for them, and to support them in their spiritual journey. And I pray that you would give me the patience and perseverance to trust in your timing and your plan.

I thank you, Lord, for your love and grace, and for the hope of eternal life through Jesus. I praise your holy name, Amen.

Joshua 24:15 “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Prayer to Soften the Heart of a Family Member Needing Salvation:

Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Faithful Father,

You know and love (name family member). He/She is your creation but is living a life with no peace. I come to you today with a heavy heart, as I am deeply concerned for the salvation of (family member). I pray that you will soften his/her heart and draw him closer to you. He is living in turmoil, with no peace in his life. Satan has hardened his heart and blinded his eyes to what he needs.

Please remove any obstacles that are preventing her from seeing the truth and the beauty of your love. Help her to see the error of her ways and to turn her life over to you. Remove all distractions and people that lead her astray.

I pray that you will surround him with people who will love him and guide him in the right direction. Give him the courage to open his heart to you and to accept your love and forgiveness. Remove all guilt and shame that he may be dealing with. If he is feeling unworthy of your love, convict him otherwise. Give him a hunger for the truth of your Word.

I know that you desire all people to be saved, and I trust in your ability to bring about this transformation in his life. I ask that you would use me as an instrument of your grace and your love in their life and that I may be a positive influence on their journey to salvation. May the power of the Holy Spirit give me the words to say that will bring a true change in his life. If not me, please send someone he will listen to.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Thank you for your mercy and your compassion. I offer this prayer to you with a heart full of hope and faith.

Amen.

Jeremiah 24:7 “I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.”

Prayer to Make God Real to a Family Member:

Isaiah 40:28 “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.”

Dear Lord,

I come to you today with a heavy heart, as I am deeply concerned for the faith of (family member). He has fallen to the culture of today’s world and believes God is nonexistent. I pray that you will make yourself real to him/her and reveal your love and presence in his/her life.

Lord, I pray that you change her view of how she sees God. She views the Bible as a history book and reads it on an intellectual level. I petition you to change the way she looks at the scriptures. I pray she reads with her heart rather than with her intellect.

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Please remove any doubts or skepticism that she may have about your existence. Help her to see the beauty of your creation and to feel the power of your love and grace. Open her eyes to what you have already done in her life, protecting her from harm in her past.

I pray that you will send people into his life who will serve as positive examples of your love and mercy. Give him the courage to open his heart to you and to seek a deeper relationship with you.

I know that you desire for all people to know you and to experience your love and forgiveness. I trust in your ability to reach out to (family member) and to draw him closer to you.

Thank you for your love and your mercy. I offer this prayer to you with a heart full of hope and faith.

Amen.

Romans 1:19-21 “For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

Prayer to Dedicate My Family to God:

2 Samuel 7:29 “Now therefore, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You. For You, O Lord God, have spoken; and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”

Dear Lord,

I come to you today to dedicate my family to you. I ask that you bless and guide us in all that we do, and help us to grow in our faith and in our love for one another.

Please help us to put you first in our lives, and to seek your will in all of our decisions. Give us the strength and the courage to live our lives according to your teachings, and to be a positive influence on those around us. For my extended family who haven’t received salvation through Jesus Christ, I pray you convict them, soften then hearts, and draw them to a new life in Christ.

Genesis 18:19 “For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

I pray that you will protect us from harm and from any negative influences that may come our way. Help us to build strong relationships with one another, based on love, trust, and respect.

I ask that you would bless each member of my family, and help us to grow in our individual talents and abilities. May we use these gifts to serve you and to make a positive difference in the world. May our lives lead people to Christ.

Thank you for your love and your grace, and for the many blessings that you have bestowed upon us. I offer this prayer to you with a heart full of gratitude and love.

Amen.

I Corinthians 11:3 “But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Prayer to Open the Eyes of Family Member to His/Her Spiritual Condition:

1 Corinthians 2:14 “The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.”

Dear Lord,

I come to you today with a heavy heart, as I am deeply concerned for (family member) who seems to be lost in his/her spiritual journey. I pray that you will open his/her eyes to their spiritual condition and help him/her to see the truth.

Please remove any blinders or obstacles that are preventing him from seeing his need for you. Help him to recognize his sin and to turn his life over to you. Lord, he does not believe in the reality of hell. He believes a loving God would not send one of His creations to eternal pain. I pray he believes in the reality of hell. Revelation 20:15 “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

I pray that you show him that being a “good person” does not mean eternal life with Jesus. May the power of the Holy Spirit engulf (family member), leading him to the need for Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9 “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

I pray that you will send people into her life who will serve as positive examples of your love and mercy. Give he the courage to seek guidance and support from those who can help her grow in her faith.

I know that you desire for all people to know you and to experience your love and forgiveness. I trust in your ability to reach out to (family member) and to draw her closer to you.

Thank you for your love and your mercy. I offer this prayer to you with a heart full of hope and faith.

Amen.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Prayer to Bind the Stronghold of Deception of My Family Member:

Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.”

Dear Lord,

I come to you today in prayer, asking for your help to bind the stronghold of deception that has taken hold in the lives of some in my family. I know that the enemy seeks to deceive and destroy, but I also know that your power and strength are greater than any deception.

Please show those family members when they are being deceived. Give them the courage and wisdom to resist the lies of the enemy. Fill them with your truth and help them to live according to your word. Break the chains that bind them. Shine your light on the darkness and reveal the truth to those who are lost and need Jesus. Show them the only way to salvation is through surrendering to Jesus Christ.

Romans 16:18 “For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.”

Thank you for your unfailing love and your faithfulness. I trust in your power to overcome the stronghold of deception, and I pray that you would guide me in all my ways.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Matthew 24:11 “Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.”

Mark 7:20-22 And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.”
