Prayer for Wisdom and Guidance:
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”
Dear Lord, I come before you today with a humble heart, seeking a deeper prayer life. I know that prayer is the foundation of my relationship with you, and I want to cultivate a rich and meaningful prayer life.
Lord, I confess that sometimes my prayers are selfish and shallow. I often focus on my own needs and wants, rather than on your will for my life. Help me to let go of my ego and to pray with a humble and contrite heart. Matthew 6:6-7 “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.“
Give me the grace to persevere in prayer, even when I feel distant from you or when my prayers seem to go unanswered. Help me to trust in your goodness and to know that you are always with me, even in the darkest moments of my life.
Teach me to pray with patience and endurance, and to seek your will in all things. Help me to pray for others as well as for myself, and to seek your kingdom and your righteousness above all else.
Lord, I ask that you would bless my prayer life and make it a source of strength and comfort for me. Help me to draw closer to you through prayer and to experience the joy and peace that only you can give.
In your holy name I pray, Amen.
Matthew 21:22: “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Prayer for Helping With My Prayer Discipline:
Romans 7:15-20 “15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.”
Dear God, why do I seem to always fail you in my prayer life. I know what I should do but don’t seem to always follow through. I want to have a deeper prayer life and a closer relationship with you. Help me with my self-discipline in spending time with you.
Please guide me and give me the strength and discipline to make time for prayer every day. Help me to quiet my mind and focus on you, and to listen for your voice in the stillness. Boldly show me what is getting in the way of my time with you.
Teach me to pray with sincerity and openness, and to trust in your will and your timing. I pray that my prayers would be in accordance with your will, and that they would bring glory to your name.
Please bless my prayer life and use it to transform me and draw me closer to you. Amen.
