Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.”
I come before you with a heart full of love and concern for my adult children. Your Word assures us in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” I place my trust in your divine plans for each of them. As a parent, we are called to lift our children up in prayer continually. Today, I have a heavy heart for the well-being of my adult children. I am petitioning you to wrap your loving, caring arms around each of them.
Lord, guide and protect my adult children in their journeys. May they seek your wisdom in all their decisions, as Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” My words to my children have always included that they trust you for godly wisdom. As I watch them live their daily lives, I realize they are not seeking you first.
I pray for their spiritual well-being, that they may draw closer to you each day. Father, my children were raised on your Word. My every effort was to train up the child in the way that he should go. I pray you pierce their hearts and the Word that was planted in their hearts will well up and become real to them in their adult lives. May they find strength, comfort, and direction in your Word. I bind any attempt by Satan to influence my children’s spiritual beliefs. I pray to remove any strongholds in their lives that would cause them to seek peace and salvation in any way other than through Jesus Christ.
Father, surround them with your grace, love, and protection. In times of joy, let them recognize your blessings, and in times of challenge, grant them resilience and faith. As they navigate their adult lives, may they continue to grow in grace and knowledge of you. My prayer is that my children feel like they can always come to me for advice or conversation. Keep the bond between us deep and one of peace and respect. Let my words be like honey to their souls. Let them always feel there is an open door in our relationship.
Lord, I lift up their dreams, aspirations, and relationships to you. May their lives be a reflection of your love and goodness. Guard them from harm, both seen and unseen, and lead them in paths of righteousness for your name’s sake. Let my children always know that I am praying for them, and my sincere desire is for them to live a life that is pleasing to you.
In moments of uncertainty, reassure them of your presence, and in moments of joy, may they offer gratitude to you. Thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of my adult children. May they always feel the warmth of your love surrounding them. I praise you for the precious gift of my children.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen
2 Peter 2:18 “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!”
