Prayer for Help in Goal Setting and Perseverance:
Hebrews 12:11 “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.“
I need your help. Sometimes I seem to know what to do but I don’t do it. Thank you for the gift of life and the ability to make choices. Please help me to develop self-discipline, the ability to control my thoughts, actions, and words.
I know that discipline is not easy, but it is necessary for me to live a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life. Help me to set goals for myself and to work towards them with determination and perseverance.
Grant me the strength and motivation to overcome laziness and procrastination, and to make the most of every day. Help me to resist temptation and to make wise decisions, even when it is difficult. 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
Please give me the courage to stand up for what is right, even when it is not popular or easy. Help me to be a person of integrity, who can be trusted and relied upon.
Thank you for loving me and for always being with me. I pray that I may grow in self-discipline and become the person you created me to be. Amen.
Proverbs 25:28 “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.“
Prayer for Motivation and Inspiration:
Romans 12:11 “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
Dear Lord, I am in need of motivation and inspiration. Please guide me and give me the strength to pursue my goals and dreams. Help me to find purpose and meaning in the tasks before me, and to persevere even when faced with challenges and setbacks.
I pray that you would fill me with your Holy Spirit and that I would be motivated by your love and grace. Please give me the courage to take risks and to step out in faith, knowing that you are with me every step of the way.
Thank you for your faithfulness and for the many blessings you have given me. I pray that I may be a blessing to others, and that my efforts may bring glory to your name. Amen.
1 Corinthians 2:16 “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”
Read the Bible in One Year:
2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Heavenly Father, This year I am committing to read your Word. Help me with the self-discipline to stay the course. I come to you today seeking your wisdom and understanding as I read your Word. I ask that you would open my heart and mind to your message, and help me to apply it to my life. I pray that you would use this time of Bible reading to transform me and lead me closer to you.
Thank you for the gift of your Word. Help me treasure it and read it with an open and receptive heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”
