Colossians 3:13 “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Heavenly Father,
Why is forgiveness so hard in this situation? I come before You today with a heavy heart. Lord, You know the wounds I carry from words spoken, actions done, and the hurt that lingers because I never received an apology. Father, I confess it feels unfair, even impossible, to forgive when the one who hurt me has not acknowledged the pain. Yet, I know Your Word calls me to walk in forgiveness regardless of whether I ever hear “I’m sorry.”
Your Word reminds me to forgive others as You have forgiven me. Lord, You forgave me completely, even before I asked. You carried my sins to the cross, and You wiped them away with Your blood. Because of that grace, I know You are calling me to extend forgiveness to others—even when they do not repent.

Lord, I am still struggling with forgiveness, even though in Matthew we are instructed that if we forgive others, our heavenly Father will forgive us, but if we do not forgive others, our Father will not forgive us. This is humbling, Lord. It shows me that forgiveness is not optional—it’s an act of obedience, an act of faith, and a reflection of Your love at work in my life. I need your help in this and to transform my heart.
Father, I release to You the bitterness that wants to grow in my heart. Bitterness only poisons me, keeping me chained to the pain of the past. I choose freedom in You. I choose to let go, even if my flesh wants to hold on. Help me to trust that You see the injustice, and You are the God who makes all things right in Your perfect time.
Romans 12:19 “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Lord, you know my heart, and You see I’m struggling with the desire to take revenge. Help me pray for the person who hurt me. Lord, soften their heart. Even though they may never apologize, I ask that Your Spirit would work in them to bring conviction and transformation. More than an apology, I long for them to truly know You. Help me see them not as my enemy, but as someone who needs Your mercy, just like I do.

Holy Spirit, give me strength to forgive daily. When the memories resurface and the emotions rise again, remind me that forgiveness is not just a one-time decision—it’s a continual surrender.
Ephesians 4:31-32 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger…Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Lord, fill the space left by hurt with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Heal my brokenness, restore my joy, and renew my heart so that forgiveness flows naturally from me as a testimony of Your grace.
Today, I declare that I will not be held captive by unforgiveness. I forgive, even without an apology, because You forgave me when I could never earn it. I forgive because obedience brings freedom. I forgive because my heart belongs to You, and I want to live in the fullness of Your love.
Thank You, Lord, for walking with me on this journey of forgiveness. Thank You for being my example, my strength, and my Savior. I choose to forgive, and I choose to walk in Your peace.
In Jesus’ mighty name I pray,
Amen.
