Simple night prayer before bed
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
Heavenly Father,
As this day comes to a close, I come before You with this night prayer and a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for Your presence that guided me, Your mercy that sustained me, and Your love that never fails. You are my refuge and strength, a present help even in moments I didn’t see clearly (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, I invite You into this quiet hour. As I prepare to sleep, I lay down every worry, every fear, and every burden at Your feet. You say in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Tonight, I choose to rest in You.
Please forgive me for anything I said, did, or thought today that did not reflect Your love. Cleanse my heart and renew my mind. I thank You for the promise in Lamentations 3:22–23, that Your mercies are new every morning. I go to sleep tonight covered by that grace.

Father, protect my home and my loved ones. Send Your angels to guard every corner of this place. Your Word reminds me that, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8). I declare peace over my mind, peace over my body, and peace over my soul.
Even in the silence of the night, You are near. I may not know what tomorrow holds, but I trust the One who holds tomorrow. Let me sleep with a heart full of trust, knowing that You are working behind the scenes for my good (Romans 8:28).
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the light in my darkness, the calm in my storm, and the peace in my night. I rest in You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen. 🙏
