2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.“
Heavenly Father,
On this Independence Day, we come before You with grateful hearts to celebrate the precious gift of freedom You have given to the United States of America. I praise you for the gift of life you have given me to be born into a country where I can freely worship you.
I don’t take this freedom for granted. Thank You for the brave men and women who, 250 years ago, declared independence and placed their trust in You, believing that “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12). Lord, I celebrate the liberty I enjoy in this beautiful land.
I thank You for the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the enduring promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Yet I know that true freedom comes from You alone. As Your Word declares, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1). I praise You for both our national independence and the spiritual freedom I have in Jesus Christ.
Righteous God, I pray for America on this 4th of July. Heal our land. Turn our hearts back to You.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Forgive us for where we have strayed. Unite us in truth, righteousness, and love. I lift up our leaders, from the President to every local official. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and courage to govern according to Your principles. May righteousness once again exalt this nation (Proverbs 14:34).
Protect our military, our first responders, and all who defend the freedoms we cherish. Surround our borders, our cities, and our families with Your divine protection.
Lord, ignite a fresh spiritual awakening across America this Independence Day. Let freedom ring not only in our celebrations and fireworks, but in hearts set free by the Gospel. Remind us that “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). As we gather with family and friends to enjoy this great day, fill our hearts with gratitude and renewed purpose. Help us to live as salt and light in this land You have blessed so richly.
Thank You, Father, for the United States of America. Thank You for the enduring dream of liberty and justice for all. May we honor You with the freedom You have given us.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
