Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
Heavenly Father,
There are seasons when I find myself struggling with God’s timing, waiting on God for an answer, a breakthrough, a change, or direction for what comes next. You know my character, and patience is a trait I need to work on. Waiting can be difficult because I want to see what You are doing and understand Your timing. Yet, You remind me that Your ways are higher than mine and Your timing is always perfect. I pray everyday to surrender myself so that trusting your timing is a growth area for me.
Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Lord, teach me what to do while I wait. Help me resist the temptation to become discouraged, impatient, or anxious. Instead, help me use this waiting season to draw closer to You. Let me spend more time in Your Word, deepen my prayer life, and listen carefully for Your voice. May I not waste this season wishing for tomorrow when You have something for me to learn and accomplish today.
When Satan starts trying to discourage me, I ask that you strengthen me to stand on Your Word rather than the negative noise. Bring to mind scriptures that I can use as these thoughts enter. Keep my eyes focused on You and the work you are doing.
Father, prepare my heart for whatever You are preparing for me. If You are asking me to grow, give me humility. If You are asking me to change, give me courage. If You are asking me to let go, give me faith. If You are asking me to persevere, give me strength.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Help me remember that waiting does not mean You are doing nothing. You may be working in circumstances I cannot see and preparing things I cannot yet understand. While I wait, make me more patient, more faithful, more obedient, and more like Christ.
Keep me from comparing my journey with someone else’s. Remind me that Your plan for my life is uniquely mine, and Your timing does not need to match anyone else’s.
Lord, show me how to serve others while I wait. Give me opportunities to encourage, love, pray, and be useful in Your kingdom. Let this season produce fruit that will remain long after the waiting is over.
I choose to trust You today. I will not demand answers before You are ready to give them. I will not allow uncertainty to steal the peace You have given me.
Teach me to wait with expectation, work with faithfulness, and rest in Your promises.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” — Psalm 27:14
