Prayer to Not Hold a Grudge:
2 John 1:6 “And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.”
Heavenly Father,
I pray for your guidance and strength as I strive to walk in love each day. Help me put aside my desires and focus on loving others as you have loved me. I pray for the grace to forgive those who have hurt me and to show compassion and kindness to those in need. Lord, please remove my vengeance or grudge toward those who have wronged me. Galatians 5:16 “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”
I pray that my words and actions will reflect your love and that I will be a shining example of your love to those around me. Please give me the courage to stand up for what is right and to speak out against injustice and hatred and not hold a grudge toward those who disagree.
I pray that you would use me as a source of love and light in this world and that my love for others would bring honor and glory to your name.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
I Corinthians 13: 1-13 “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; …”
Prayer to Forgive Those Who Wronged Me:
Matthew 6:14-15: “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Heavenly Father, I come to you today with a heavy heart. I have been hurt and wronged by those around me, and it is difficult for me to forgive them. But I know that forgiveness is what you have called me to do.
I ask that you give me the strength and grace to forgive those who hurt me. I release any anger, bitterness, or resentment I have held onto, and I choose to forgive them just as you have forgiven me. I realize Satan does all he can to cause division among your people. I put up a shield through your power to protect myself from his firey darts.
I pray that you will heal the wounds in my heart and bring peace to my mind. I ask that you give me the wisdom to understand why they have hurt me and help me see them through your eyes of love and compassion. Father, if those who hurt me are having a difficult time in their lives, I ask that you intercede and bring peace to their situations.
I pray that you would give me the courage to speak the truth in love to those who have wronged me and that you would give them the humility to hear and receive it. Give me the ears of Christ. I pray that you would bless those who have hurt me and use this experience to bring them closer to you.
I trust in your goodness and faithfulness and know you are in control. I give you my hurt and pain and ask that you use it for your glory. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Prayer for My Repentance and Forgiveness:
Acts 3:19 “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out…”
Jesus,
I know we are called to walk in love and to love as you do. Sometimes I find that difficult when dealing with the hurts from people who have betrayed me. I come before you with a repentant heart, recognizing the mistakes and sins I have committed in my life. I ask for your forgiveness and mercy, knowing I am not worthy of your love and grace.

I repent for the times when I didn’t handle situations as you would have and have not walked in love. I recognize my human imperfections and the imperfections of others. I ask that you give me patience as I work through hurts to forgive those who have hurt me fully.
Lord, I know I have fallen short and hurt others through my actions and words. I ask for your forgiveness for any pain or harm I have caused, and I pray that you will heal any wounds I have inflicted.
Matthew 3:8 “Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.”
Lord, I know you are a God of love and mercy, and I trust in your promises of forgiveness and redemption. I pray that you would fill me with the assurance of your love and the knowledge that I am forgiven and made new in Christ.
Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not just seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
I also pray for the grace and strength to extend forgiveness to others who have hurt me, just as you have forgiven me. I pray that I may be able to love and show mercy to others as you have loved and shown mercy to me.
Thank you for your love, grace, forgiveness, and the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. I pray this in His holy name.
Amen.
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Prayer to See Others as Christ Sees Them:
1 John 4:11 “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
Loving Father,
My heart is committed to a more powerful walk in love. Lord, I acknowledge you are the Creator of all people. I would never want to dishonor your creation. I haven’t always walked in love when dealing with difficult people. I come to you today with a humble heart and a prayerful spirit, asking for a change in my life. Please give me the eyes to see others as you see them, with love, compassion, and understanding.

Open my eyes to every person’s beauty, regardless of race, gender, religion, social status, or political beliefs. Help me appreciate their unique gifts and talents and recognize the potential you have placed within each of them. Give me your eyes to see the value in each person and show empathy and acceptance to them. Season my words with salt so that I am a witness for Jesus Christ. Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”
Teach me to treat others with kindness and respect, just as you did during your time on earth. Help me to listen to their needs, offer encouragement and support, and always be there for them in times of need. Guard my tongue when tempted to say words that would not bring glory to you. 1 Peter 3:10 For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit…:
Above all, help me to see your presence in every person I meet and to honor and cherish them as fellow children of God. May my thoughts, words, and actions reflect your love and grace, and may I always strive to be a reflection of your light in the world.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
1 Corinthians 13:13 “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
Prayer to Fill Me With a Compassion Toward Others:
Mark 6:34 “When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.”
Loving Father,
Your word is our blueprint for what it means to have a life filled with compassion. I admit my heart has become hardened by the injustices I see all around me. I don’t want to be like this; I want to have your compassion for those who are hurting or less fortunate. I come to you today with a heart full of gratitude for my blessings and a desire to be more like you. I pray that you will fill me with your compassion toward others and help me to see them through your eyes.

Teach me to love others as you have loved me, with a selfless and sacrificial love that puts their needs before mine. Help me show kindness and mercy to those who are hurting or in need and offer a listening ear, a helping hand, or a comforting word to those struggling. I pray for balance in my life as I need to care for myself and my family. Show me ways I can be more compassionate toward others. I commit to being less self-centered and focusing more on your creations.
Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
May your love flow through me to others, and may I be a source of comfort and hope to those who are hurting. Give me the courage to step out of my comfort zone, show your love to those who are different from me, and help me make a positive difference in their lives.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
1 John 3:17 “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?”

Prayer for God’s Blessings on Those Who Wrong Me:
Luke 6:27-36 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.”
Faithful Father,
This is such a hard prayer for me. It is not natural for me to want to bless those who have hurt or persecuted me. I am committed to becoming more like you and learning to walk in love. Your word tells us loving those who love us is easy, but loving our enemies is truly the test of love. Today I come to you in prayer as I am struggling to forgive those who have wronged me. Although it is difficult, I pray for your blessings upon them and ask that you help me respond to their actions with love and kindness. Bless my enemies, and they go and come. Make your face shine upon them.
Matthew 5:43-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?”
I know you call us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. So, I ask you to bless them with your grace and mercy and to open their hearts to your love and forgiveness. Help them to see the error of their ways and to turn to you for guidance and healing. I pray for you to put believers in the path of my enemies. Lord, send your Holy Spirit to bring them to salvation through Jesus Christ and repentance for the hurt they have caused others. Likewise, I repent for those I have hurt.
As I struggle to forgive and move on from the pain they have caused me, I ask for your strength and guidance. Please help me to release the hurt and anger that I feel. May I witness your love and grace, even in the face of wrongdoing.
Thank you for your unending love and grace and for the peace that only you can provide. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
2 John 1:6 “And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.”

Prayer to Love Unconditionally, Expecting Nothing in Return:
Luke 6:27-36 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.”
Lord,
You modeled the height of agape love when you gave us your Son Jesus so we may have eternal life. I repent for not showing love at that level. Today, I pray for the ability to love unconditionally without expecting anything in return. Help me to let go of the need for validation or recognition and instead focus on giving love freely and without hesitation. Give me a heart that freely gives without thinking of what I will get in return.

Help me to cultivate a deep sense of compassion and understanding. Show me areas where I can give of myself and my resources–areas where the recipient can give me nothing in return. I want to be a servant to others. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
May my love be a source of healing and transformation for those around me, and may it inspire others to love without condition as well. Help me remember that love is not about what we receive in return but what we are willing to give.
Thank you for your infinite wisdom and grace. May your love fill my heart and guide my actions each and every day.
Amen.
Philippians 2:1-30 “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, …”
