7 Bold Prayers for Transformation The Community Education System

Prayer for Safety in Our Schools:

2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”

Protective Father

You know our children are our national treasure. Many schools in our education system today are no longer a safe haven where our children can learn and prepare for their futures. I come before you today to ask for your protection and safety in our schools. We live in a world where danger and violence seem ever-present, and our schools are not immune to these threats.

I pray for the safety of our students, teachers, and staff. I ask that you place a hedge of protection around them, and give them the wisdom and discernment to handle any situation. I pray their spirits are attuned to the emotional needs of the students and can sense any danger arising within the school. I pray for those who may be struggling with mental health issues or who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. We ask that you provide them with the help and support they need and that they may find healing and peace.

Lord, I bind the spirit of fear that may arise in any of the students or educators. As we hear of more and more attacks on schools, Satan’s desire is to create a culture of fear in our schools. I pray you to remove that fear and fill the schools with a peaceful learning environment. Raise an army of Christian educators who will anoint their schools and classrooms daily.

We pray for our communities and nation that we may unite to find solutions to the problems that lead to violence and harm. May we work together to create safe environments for our children to learn and grow

We ask all of these things in your name, Amen.

Nahum 1:7  “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.”

Prayer to Fill the School Employees With Love for the Students:

Mark 10:13-16 And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

Father, today I praise you for the opportunity we have for obtaining an education in our country. We are blessed to have access to schools that are well equipped with buildings and classroom tools to assist in the learning process. I don’t take that for granted when compared to many countries.

Today I lift up the administrators in the school system. I pray for their wisdom to hire the right school leaders, teachers, aids, and support staff. Oftentimes our focus is on the teachers only. Lord, I realize all educational employees play a role in the full educational process. Please touch their lives and give them a burning desire to do all with the students in mind. I pray for the maintenance people to provide for a clean and safe environment for the students. Bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and teacher assistants are a critical part of the learning process. Fill their hearts with a love for the students. Bless them as they come and go.

Lord, I want to specifically pray for the teachers who have an everyday task of pouring into the lives of the students. We ask for your wisdom and grace for the teachers as they prepare to lead their class each day. Give them a heart of compassion for all the students. Lead them by the Holy Spirit, empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed to reach each student at his/her level of learning. Bless the teacher as he/she inspires and motivates learning in the classroom.

Lord, I ask that you put on the heart of every teacher to not only teach academic content but also godly character development. Teach our students to be the person you created them to be, understanding that all students are valuable.

Proverbs 22:6 tells us to “Train up a child in the way he should go; Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Lord, I pray the complete education system provides experiences that point students in the way he/she should go in life. By the power of the Holy Spirit, our students will be molded into productive citizens with strong godly characters.

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Matthew 18:10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.”

Prayer for Curriculum With Career Focused:

Psalm 127:3 “Children are indeed a heritage from the Lord…”

Dear God,

Our schools need great prayer today. There seems to be a shift in focus away from teaching content related to the students’ futures. Parents throughout the nation are crying out for school reform. Lord, I place a hedge of protection around our students. Guard their hearts against anything that doesn’t glorify you.

We also pray for the teachers and staff in our schools. We ask that you bless them with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as they pursue their education. May they do all with the best interest of the students in mind.

We pray for safety and protection over the school, that your angels would surround and guard each person on the campus. Please guard the facilities against any damage or illness infiltration. We pray there are funds to upkeep and build facilities conducive to learning for our students.

Lord, we pray for unity and respect among the students and faculty, that they would work together and support one another in their studies and endeavors.

We pray that this school will be where your love and truth are evident and that your grace will transform the students and staff.

In your precious name, we pray, Amen.

1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

7 Bold Prayers for Transformation The Community Education System

Prayer to Guard Against Any Hidden Agendas in the Curriculum:

Matthew 18:6 “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Dear God,

Our school systems are under attack. News of inappropriate curriculum content is being heard of nationwide. We are hearing more and more about teachers and administrators allowing content to be presented in classrooms that are against your godly principles. Lord, I come before you today to ask that our schools be protected against inappropriate lessons and perversions. I pray that if any such content is hidden within the curriculum, it will be exposed and corrected immediately, with the least amount of harm to our precious children.

Lord, I ask that you guard our children against any hidden agendas or false teachings in the material. Protect the hearts of the younger children and give boldness to the older children so that they may speak up if presented with material that isn’t academic in nature. Protect our children against any retaliation for their boldness.

I pray for Christian teachers in the classroom. Lord, if they are required to teach content that they know is against your Word and not in the best interest of our children, give them the boldness to speak out against it. Give them a spirit of cooperation with the parents. Guard these Christian teachers who are devoted to training the children for their careers.

Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

Lord, I also pray for those who are responsible for creating and implementing the curriculum. Give them wisdom and discernment as they make decisions that impact the education of young minds. May they always act with integrity and with the best interests of the students in mind. I pray that the content values all children and has no hidden agenda to make any particular student group feel inferior. Lord, I pray the selected curriculum focuses solely on academics and has no hidden agendas where the writers try to promote a certain ideology.

I trust in your power and protection, Lord. I trust you will protect the children in the classrooms. Thank you for hearing my prayer.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Matthew 19:13-14 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Prayer for Increased Parental and Family Involvement in the Schools:

1 Timothy 3:4 “He must manage his own household well…”

Heavenly Father,

Our schools today face many challenges. With the continued decline in the family structure, many children don’t have family support regarding their education. This makes it extremely difficult for the teachers and the children. I come before you today to pray for increased parental and family involvement in our schools. Lord, studies show that when parents and families are actively engaged in their children’s education, it can have a tremendous positive impact on the learning environment.

I pray that you inspire parents and families to take an active interest in their children’s education and to become more involved in their schools. May they take the time to attend parent-teacher conferences and school events and volunteer in various capacities. Lord, if those involved need to be extended family members, put that interest in their hearts. Raise community churches and organizations to stand in the gap for those children who don’t have family support. I ask that every child has a positive adult influence in his/her life.

Philippians 2:4 “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

Lord, I also pray for the teachers and staff who work tirelessly to educate our children. Give them the support and encouragement they need to continue to impact their students’ lives positively. Help them to communicate effectively with parents and families and to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

May our schools be a place of safety, learning, and growth for all students. May parents and families feel empowered to support their children’s education, and may our schools be strengthened by their involvement.

I ask for your guidance and blessing on this endeavor, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

1 Timothy 5:8 “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

Prayer for School Academic Programs for Students of All Abilities:

Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

Loving Father,

You create each of us as unique individuals, all valued by you. When I look at a classroom, I see individuals who come to school with individual needs. I come before you today to pray that our schools have programs that cater to students of all academic abilities. Lord, every student is unique and has different strengths and weaknesses. I pray that our schools can provide educational opportunities that meet the needs of each individual student.

Please inspire administrators and educators to create inclusive and accommodating programs for students of all academic abilities. May they find creative solutions that allow every student to reach their full potential. I pray for the teachers as they meet the challenges of such a vast student population. Give the teachers wisdom, patience, and strength as they design lessons with the greatest impact on student learning.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Lord, I also pray for students who may be struggling academically. Please give them the support and encouragement they need to overcome challenges and succeed in their studies. Help them to recognize their own unique strengths and talents and to find their own path to success.

May our schools be places of growth, learning, and opportunity for all students, regardless of their academic abilities. Please guide and bless all those involved in creating and implementing these programs.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Prayer for a Variety of Extracurricular Activities:

Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Dear God,

I praise you for the school system in our city. The administrators, teachers, and support staff all have a heart for our children. Our children are very blessed to have such loving support. Because learning takes place inside and outside of the classroom, I come before you today to pray for our school system to offer a variety of extracurricular activities. Lord, extracurricular activities are an important part of a student’s education, as they help students develop their skills, interests, and social connections.

Please inspire the school administrators and educators to create and offer a wide range of extracurricular activities that cater to all students’ diverse interests and talents. These activities allow students to grow, learn, and explore new things. Provide our schools with the finances to offer these programs. I pray you send sponsors to create extracurricular activities where the students learn in an enjoyable setting.

Lord, I also pray for the students who may be struggling to find their place in the school community. May they find a sense of belonging and purpose through their participation in extracurricular activities. Help them discover their unique talents and interests and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. I pray you to put a love of learning in the students’ hearts as they transition from the classroom to extracurricular activities.

I ask for your grace and guidance in this matter, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
