Heavenly Father, I pray for guidance and wisdom as I search for new employees to join our team. Help me find the right individuals who will be a good fit for our company and help us achieve our goals and objectives.
Please give me the insight and the discernment to identify the best candidates, and to make wise and informed decisions. Help me to avoid making hasty or misguided choices, and to find the right people to join our team. Lord, you tell us in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” You know the plans for my business and me. With that knowledge, please help me in hiring the right person for each position so that your plans may be fulfilled.
Lord, remove any prejudices or preconceivable opinions I have before each interview. Be with me as I conduct each interview, seeing each candidate as someone who can possibly be an asset to our company.
I pray that you will bless our company with hardworking and dedicated employees who will help us to succeed and thrive.
Grant me the patience and understanding to conduct thorough and fair interviews and to give all candidates a fair chance to demonstrate their skills and abilities. Help me make decisions based on merit and potential, not biases or preconceived notions.

Lord, I praise you for my successful business. I give you all the glory for what we have accomplished. I am asking that you go before me to send the right employees to help my business succeed and grow. Open my eyes to select the ones who will be a perfect match.
I come before you today seeking your guidance and wisdom as we look to hire new employees for our company. Please help me to find the best candidates who are not only qualified and skilled, but who also align with our values and mission.

Heavenly Father,
I am seeking you in selecting a new employee. My experience has shown that selecting the person based on job-related technical skills does not always work out. I am learning to look at the “soft skills” also, which are hard to determine in an interview. Because of this, I pray for guidance as I search for the right person to fill an important role in my company. I ask that You lead me to someone who not only has the necessary skills and experiences, but also has a heart that is aligned with Your will.
May the person I hire have a heart filled with compassion, integrity, and a strong work ethic. I truly desire the person to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. May they positively influence those around them, and may they be dedicated to serving others and making a difference in the lives of those they work with. This person needs to be teachable and have a team mindset.
May the Holy Spirit guide me in making the right decision and give me the courage to trust Your plan for my company and the individual I seek to hire.

Prayer to Know When to Hire From Within the Company:
Psalms 25:9 “He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.”
Lord, I have asked you to lead me to a candidate with a teachable spirit. I don’t want to ask anything of a prospective employee that I don’t have to. So I am humbly seeking you to fill an upcoming position. I want you to teach me your ways more every day.
I pray that You will guide me in knowing when it is appropriate to bring someone new on board and when it would be better to promote from within. I have a position to fill and am assessing this choice. I know sometimes it is good to bring in someone who can provide ideas we haven’t thought of. Sometimes these people bring in talents and knowledge from a previous job that we could implement in our business. You have shown me hiring from within is a good motivator for present employees. “Climbing the ladder” is deep in the hearts of many of our employees.
Help me recognize my current employees’ gifts and strengths, and give me the discernment to know which individuals would be the best fit for new roles and responsibilities. If you lead me to hire from within, please go before me in handling any jealousy that may arise within the workplace. I have strived to create a culture where each employee celebrates the others’ accomplishments. If this is the direction you show me to go, I am standing on your Word that you guide me in handling any issues that may arise.
May Your will be done in all of my hiring decisions, and may I seek to honor You in all things. Give me the grace to make decisions with fairness and justice and the courage to trust Your plan for my company and for each individual I work with.

Heavenly Father,
Lord, my company needs fresh ideas. I don’t want to re-invent my business focus but broaden how we conduct business. I come to you today asking that you bring the right candidate to my company so that we can continue to be relevant in the marketplace and increase our business. I pray for guidance while searching for the right person to join our team. I ask that You lead me to someone who has the necessary skills and experience, a passion for innovation, and a creative mind.
May the person I hire bring fresh ideas and a new perspective to my company, and may they be dedicated to helping us grow and succeed. Help me recognize and nurture their unique talents, and may they positively influence those around them. I would also ask that they have leadership skills as we build a strong Leadership Team.
If that person is already within the company, and I just overlooked him/her, please show me. If I haven’t given each employee the opportunity to share unique ideas, put that on my heart. I want to continue to build a culture of transparency and opportunity.
