Prayer to Guard Against Temptation in My Family:
Job 1:10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.“
Lord, today I lift myself (family or others) up to you. I am praying Psalm 91, where your blood is the hedge of protection around believers. I am asking You to place a hedge of protection around me (or name others). It hides me from the enemy, familiar spirits, and demonic spirits, making it difficult, if not impossible, for them to effectively track me in the spiritual realm.
According to your word in Psalm 91, there will be no perforations or penetrations into these protective fences. I know you will answer this prayer because I love and trust in your name alone. I pray that Your blood, Lord Jesus, covers me and all You have given me. The enemy will not have access to what has been given to me.

Lord, one of the main ways Satan attacks your people is through thoughts. I pray you put a hedge around my thoughts. Sometimes my thoughts wander to the what-ifs and should-haves. I realize that gets into a lack of faith in your plan. Please take my negative thoughts captive.
Help me focus on what is good, honorable, and pure. Philippians 4:8 Guide me in seeking the mental hedge of protection from the Holy Spirit as he fills my mind with peace, joy, righteousness, compassion, and love.
I need help with controlling my actions, Lord. I want to be the bible some people never read. I desperately want your light to shine through me. So, Lord, when I am about to act or speak in a way that is not loving or respectful, I ask you to give me a mental check.
Protect me, Father, from temptation and falling into old behavior patterns. Surround me with a hedge of caring people who will lovingly point out that I am behaving in an unchristian-like manner. Remind me that I am a new creature in Christ and place barriers to prevent me from acting in ways that would grieve you.
Psalm 34:13 “Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.” I pray that you help me in guarding my tongue. I need help in guarding my tongue and not speaking evil. I want my words to glorify you and be pleasing to your ears. I ask that you put a hedge of protection around the words that proceed from my mouth. As you continue to guard my heart, the words flowing from my heart will bring comfort and healing to the ears of others.
I stand firm in knowing you are faithful to complete what you have started. Amen
Prayer to Control Lustful Desires in My Family:
1 Corinthians 6:13 “You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.”
Dear God,
(Pray this prayer for yourself or a specific family member) Everywhere I turn, I see the world seems to have sexualized everything. I come before you today to ask for your help overcoming my lustful desires. I know that these desires are not in line with your will for my life, and they have the power to harm me and others.

Please give me the strength and self-control to resist temptation and turn my thoughts and actions toward what is pure and holy. Help me find my identity and worth in you and cultivate a heart full of love and self-control. I pray you send me an accountability partner to help me with these unholy desires. I have tried independently, but it seems I fail way too often. I recognize this is separating me from our relationship.
Lord, I realize the root cause of sexual sin is complicated. I believe in your transformation power; you have also equipped professionals to help when people struggle in this area. Show me if that is the direction I should go in delivering me from my struggles. Lord, help me discover why this continues to be an area I can’t defeat.
I desire to grow deeper in your Word so that my closeness to you is the hedge I need. 2 Timothy 2:22 “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
I pray that you would change my heart and transform my thoughts so that I may honor and glorify you in all that I do. I trust in your goodness and your love for me, and I ask that you give me the grace to walk in your ways and live a pleasing life.

Prayer for My Grandchildren:
Proverbs 17:6 “Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.”
Heavenly Father
You knew what you were doing when setting up the family structure. My grandchildren are such a blessing to me at this stage in my life. I lift my grandchildren to you today. I ask for your love, grace, and protection to surround them always. May they grow in wisdom and understanding and come to know you as their personal Lord and Savior.

Bless their minds, bodies, and spirits, and help them to develop into confident, compassionate, and faithful individuals. Give them a hunger for your Word, and may they always seek your truth and guidance. Place Christian mentors in their lives…men and women who love Jesus and will show my grandchildren how to live according to God’s principles.
Fill them with the Holy Spirit, who will guard their hearts and keep them safe from harm and temptation. Surround them with loving friends and mentors who will encourage and support them. Protect them from Satan’s attack; guard their minds and hearts when he sets to derail their lives.
I trust your perfect plan for their lives and pray they shine for you. I ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Psalm 127:3-5 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
Prayer for My Nightmares to Stop:
Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Dear Lord,
I desperately need your help. I am in a spiritual battle like I’ve never had before. I come to you today seeking peace and comfort from the nightmares plaguing my sleep. I trust in your power to heal and deliver me from all fear and anxiety.

In Proverbs 3:24 “If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” I am standing on this Word. I pray for the Holy Spirit to grant me restful and peaceful sleep, free from disturbing dreams or thoughts. Let your love and light shine upon me, filling me with safety and security.
I surrender my worries and fears to you, knowing that you are always with me and watching over me. I trust your goodness and mercy and ask for your protection and guidance as I sleep. I am putting on the full armor of God to defend against the wiles of Satan.
Thank you for being my refuge and strength and surrounding me with peace and comfort. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for My Prodigal Son or Daughter:

Dear Father,
Children are a precious gift from You. I praise you for blessing me with <Name>. He/She has been a joy through the years. Raising him/her may have had some challenges, but all children present some level of challenge to parents. <Name> has chosen to live apart from your principles and is living a life that brings a chance of danger. I come to you today with a heavy heart as I lift my prodigal son/daughter to you. I pray for a hedge of protection to surround them and for your grace and mercy to cover their lives.
Luke 15:7 “Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”

I ask that you turn his/her heart back towards you and help him see the error of his ways. Draw him close to you, Lord, and reveal the hope and love that can only be found in you. Grant them the courage to make the right choices and the strength to resist temptation. Surround them with loving friends and mentors who will encourage and support them along the way.
Just as the Prodigal Son, I am ready to prepare a feast for his/her return. Luke 15:11-32 “And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’
And he divided his property between them. Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs…“
I pray your hedge of protection keeps him/her safe during his time of rebellion. I’m standing on your Word for a miraculous transformation in <Name’s> life. I trust in your perfect plan for his life, and I pray he/she will be restored to a right relationship with you and those around them. I ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Protection Against Harmful Media:
Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”
Dear Father,
My family is bombarded by the media every waking hour. I would love to disconnect from all sources, but that is almost impossible today. My heart is heavy, knowing the threat that can attack through social media, television, email, texts, etc. I come to you today and ask for your protection against all forms of harmful media. In this age of technology and information overload, it is easy to get caught up in the negativity and darkness that can be found in various forms of media.

I ask for your guidance and wisdom through the power of the Holy Spirit to help me discern what is good and what is harmful to my family’s mind, heart, and soul. I pray that you shield us from the harmful effects of media, whether it be through television, social media, or any other form.
Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Please surround us with your love, grace, and protection so we may remain focused on your goodness and the positive things in life. Give us the strength to resist temptation and the courage to turn away from anything that may harm us. Prepare my family and me every day with the fully equipped armor of God so that we are ready to defeat the attacks of Satan. Bring to mind each scripture that makes Satan flee.
I trust in your infinite wisdom and love, and I know that with your protection, I will be able to navigate the challenges of this world with grace and peace.
Thank you for hearing my prayer, and may your love and protection be with me always.

Prayer for Protection Against Poor Health and Diseases in My Family:
3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”
Heavenly Father
We are pandemic-tired. Every day, there seems to be a warning about another attack we must know about. Lord, I put my faith in you to put a hedge of protection around my family; no disease shall fall upon us. Satan is in full assault mode, but he is already defeated. I come to you asking for your protection and guidance for my family. In this world, many health challenges and diseases can threaten our well-being and the safety of our loved ones.
I pray that you protect us from these harmful illnesses and diseases. Shield us from anything that could harm our physical, mental, and emotional health. Help us make wise choices that promote good health and well-being. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.”
Guide us to make healthy decisions and provide us with the necessary resources to care for ourselves. Block any attack entering our household. Wash us clean daily.
Psalm 138:7 “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.”
I trust in your love and protection and know you always watch over us. Thank you for your continued love and care for our family. We praise you for your goodness and grace.
