Prayer to Take My Thoughts Captive During This Illness:
Psalm 23:4: Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me. Your shepherd’s rod and staff protect me.
Lord, I praise you for your faithfulness through the years. Today, I need you more than ever as I face this illness. Pour your words concerning healing into my heart so that my peace is unwavering. I stand on the work you have done on the cross for me. Isaiah 53:5 “By his stripes we are healed” is the definitive passage that I’m believing during this time.
I ask you to take my thoughts captive during this journey. I recognize Satan comes to still, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) and invades my thoughts. When the darkness comes, I pray you give me the peace needed to overcome the mental attacks. Sickness is such a scary time. You know my heart, so I will verbalize where I need peace. I feel so alone–no one seems to understand how my sickness affects me mentally and physically. Sometimes the physical pain is unbearable. I know that is Satan telling me that. I need peace in this area.
Jesus, I also need peace as far as finances are concerned. I know you will supply all my needs. Right now, time off from work and medical bills are mounting. Give me the peace to keep my eyes on you. You have promised to supply all my needs according to your riches in glory.
And give me peace regarding healing. I know the ultimate healing in my life will be when I meet you face to face. Give me peace to accept the path of my journey, whether I am to continue my work on earth or graduate to eternity with you. Calm my anxiety and help me be calm as I trust in You.
Cover me in the shadow of your wings so I can rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer for Peace After a Terminal Illness Diagnosis:
John 6:40 “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Loving and Compassionate God,
No matter what my medical team tells me, I will focus on you, the Rock of My Salvation. Because Jesus came to earth in the flesh, he understands all my emotions. Today has been a challenging day for me and my family. I come before You with a heavy heart, having received a terminal illness diagnosis. In this time of great uncertainty and fear, I seek Your peace that surpasses all understanding. You are the Prince of Peace, and I trust that You can calm the storms within my soul.
Lord, I admit that I feel overwhelmed by the weight of this news. But I also acknowledge that You are the God of all comfort, and You promise to be near to the brokenhearted. I ask for Your presence to surround me, to soothe my anxieties, and to grant me a deep sense of peace that can only come from You. Even with this news, I still stand on your miraculous ability to heal my body.
Help me to release my fears and surrender my worries into Your capable hands. Remind me of Your words in Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Give me the faith to trust in Your perfect plan, even in the face of this devastating news.
Lord, I pray for clarity and wisdom as I decide on my health and treatment options. Grant me discernment and guide the medical professionals who are caring for me. May Your divine wisdom be present in every step of this journey. Lord, in the middle of the challenges I am facing, I believe you are able to perform miracles. I never want to doubt your ability to fully heal me if you have more plans for me on this earth. No matter the direction my life goes, I want full peace with you every step of the way.
In the midst of the storm, I pray for the strength to find moments of joy, gratitude, and peace. Help me to cherish the time I have left, create lasting memories with my loved ones, and positively impact the lives of those around me. May Your love shine through me, even in the midst of my own suffering.
Father, I lift up my family and friends who are also affected by this diagnosis. Grant them peace and comfort as they walk alongside me. Provide them with the strength to support and care for me during this time. Help us all to find solace in Your promises and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Lord, I surrender my life into Your hands. May Your will be done, knowing You are a God of love and mercy. Give me the courage to face each day with hope and to trust in Your unchanging love.
No matter the time and place when this happens, I look forward to facing Jesus. What a day of rejoicing that will be. All pain and suffering will be gone, and I will spend eternity praising the Father.

Dear Lord, your Word tells me you will never leave or forsake me. I am standing in faith in that scripture. Today I come to you with a heavy heart as I struggle with illness. It seems my mind is a battlefield, being attacked day and night. I need peace and rest.
I ask that you bring peace to my mind and body. Help me to trust in your healing power and to find strength in your love. Bring me hope for a future of health and wholeness. I don’t want to be selfish in my prayers. I realize there are many suffering from illnesses. Touch them and bring them peace as you heal their bodies too.
In your precious name, I pray, Amen.

Dear Lord,
I come before you today with a heart filled with gratitude and trust. You have continued to be faithful in all aspects of my life. Today I have some fear as I wait for my latest test results. I ask for your divine blessings as I face the test results. I pray that you will give me the strength and courage to face any challenges that may come my way and that you will be with me every step of the way.
I ask for your healing touch to be upon me, Lord, and that you would bring comfort and peace to my mind and body. I know you have a plan for my life and work all things together for good, so I trust in your sovereignty and goodness.
I pray for positive results, Lord, and I may receive the news that I am healthy and well. But even if the results are not what I hope for, I ask that you be with me and give me the grace to handle the situation with peace and strength.
I ask for your wisdom for me and my medical team to make the right decisions for my health and well-being. And I pray for your provision, Lord, that I may have access to the best care and resources to help me in my journey.
Thank you for your love and care for me, Lord, and for being my constant companion and comforter. I trust in your goodness and mercy and pray that your will be done in my life. Amen.

Faithful Father,
I come before You in this time of illness, seeking Your guidance, strength, and healing. Lord, I acknowledge that You are the source of all comfort, hope, and truth. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I pray that You would help me trust in Your Word and find solace in Your promises. Give me the discipline and strength to meditate on your Word day and night.
I may feel fearful, anxious, and uncertain about the future during this challenging time. But Your Word reminds me that You are always with me and will never leave nor forsake me. Help me to hold on to this truth and find peace in Your presence, the peace that passes all understanding. Please give me the peace that the world cannot give. John 14:27
Lord, I am reminded of the psalmist’s words, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (Psalm 18:2). I pray that You would be my rock, my refuge, and my strength as I face this illness. Help me to lean on You and trust in Your unwavering love and faithfulness.
In moments of doubt and pain, remind me of Your promises in Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Lord, I trust in Your power to heal and restore. I ask for Your healing touch upon my body and mind, knowing that You are the ultimate healer.
Father, grant me wisdom to make decisions concerning my health and grant skill and discernment to the medical professionals who are caring for me. I pray that You would guide their hands and minds, giving them the knowledge and insight needed to provide the best treatment.
Finally, Lord, I submit my life and health into Your loving hands. May Your will be done in all things, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Help me to trust in Your sovereign plan, even when it is difficult to understand.

Prayer to Be Filled With Hope During My Illness:
Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Gracious and Merciful God,
You know everything about me, Father. You know that I am getting weary as I deal with this illness. Even though the doctors may not have a positive outlook, I never want to give up the hope you give me. I humbly come before You, seeking Your divine presence and asking for a renewed sense of hope. You are the source of all hope and the giver of life. I pray that You will fill my heart and mind with hope, even in the midst of this challenging time.
Lord, I acknowledge that my strength is limited, and my circumstances may seem overwhelming. But I trust in Your promises and Your faithfulness. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I cling to this promise and ask that You remind me daily.
Help me to remember that my hope does not rest in my own abilities or the outcome of my illness but in You alone. You are the God of miracles, and nothing is impossible for You. I pray for Your healing touch upon my body and mind, knowing that You can bring about restoration and wholeness.
Lord, when despair tries to overshadow my thoughts, help me to fix my eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of my faith. Help me to find comfort in His presence and draw strength from His love. Remind me of the words spoken in Psalm 42:11, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.”
Father, I ask for Your grace to persevere through this illness with hope and resilience. Knowing You are by my side gives me the strength to face each day. Surround me with a community of love and support who will uplift me in prayer and offer encouragement in my time of need.
May Your Holy Spirit fill me with peace that surpasses all understanding and hope that transcends any circumstances. Help me trust in Your timing and purpose, even when it feels difficult. Let my life testify to Your faithfulness and the power of hope in You.

Merciful and Loving God,
I need your help with my worsening anxiety. I am having trouble coping with the expenses associated with my illness. I also worry about my family and the future. I come before You with a heavy heart, burdened by this anxiety and fear as I live with this illness. I acknowledge that You are the God of peace, and I humbly ask for Your divine intervention to remove the anxiety that grips my soul.
Lord, You know the depths of my fears and worries. You see the sleepless nights and the racing thoughts that consume my mind. I lay them before You, knowing You care for me and understand the weight of my struggles. Please grant me Your peace that transcends all understanding.
In the middle of my anxiety, help me to fix my gaze upon You, for You are my refuge and strength. Your Word assures me in Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” I surrender my anxious thoughts and worries to You, trusting You will replace them with Your perfect peace.
Lord, I pray for the healing touch of Your Spirit upon my mind and emotions. Release me from the grip of anxiety and grant me a calm and steady heart. Fill me with Your presence, for in Your presence, there is fullness of joy and peace.
Help me to cultivate a spirit of gratitude, even in the midst of my illness. Open my eyes to the blessings surrounding me and help me focus on Your goodness. Remind me of Your faithfulness in the past and strengthen my faith for the present and the future.
Lord, I lift my loved ones who may also be experiencing anxiety and worry due to my illness. Comfort their hearts and grant them Your peace as well. Help us to lean on one another for support and encouragement, and may our shared faith in You be a source of strength.
Father, I surrender my anxiety to You, trusting that You are in control and that Your love for me is unwavering. Grant me the peace that surpasses all understanding, and may Your peace guard my heart and mind.
